A Day for the Dogs

  • June 28, 2010 10:22 pm

To be completely honest, I wanted nothing more all day long than to be at home curled up in bed. When I woke up this morning for work, I had a headache. I never give myself much time to get ready in the mornings, so I was already running late before I even got in the shower. I popped some advil, and headed in. The headache never subsided, and instead of being able to leave early, I had to stay late at work. When I finally made it home, it was around 5 pm and I took two more advil and got ready for my second job. I got in from my second job way later than I wanted to, and finally got to eat dinner and relax.

Family First

  • June 25, 2010 3:22 am

My family has always said that you have to put family first. When the world turns its back on you, my family has always said that family will still be there. My younger sister and two younger brothers and I are best friends. They mean the world to me and I’m not quite sure where exactly I would be without them. My grandparents and parents are loving and they push me to do my best. They inspire me. My husband’s family treats me like I’ve always been one of them, even though I just married into the family a little less than three years ago. Overall, I’d say that family does need to be put first.

Country Living

  • June 22, 2010 8:21 am

When someone asks me where I live, I automatically say, “In the country.” I live with my husband, three cats, dog, and his mother. It’s a nice little house that has linoleum and carpet throughout. There is a little stoop on the front of the house that you can sit a couple of lawn chairs on, and the neighbors are close, but not too close for comfort. There used to be a deck on the house, but over time it has fallen in. It is a quiet neighborhood, filled with good people. My town is small and nearly everyone is close to one another.

Just a Normal Day

My wardrobe on a normal day consists of blue jeans and a band t-shirt. However, after the rough day that I had today, my wardrobe consisted of pajamas. I wore a gray t-shirt that had the logo of our local middle school football team on the front and a pair of red pajama pants that were covered in penguins. I also wore socks all day because the temperature was less than desirable. I just threw my hair up in a loose ponytail and didn’t even bother to put on makeup. But, the one thing I can say about my lazy attire, was that I was definitely comfortable today!

Truest Desires

  • June 14, 2010 8:03 pm

If I could have any one thing in the world that I chose, that would be the easiest decision that I would ever have to make in my life. I would wish that my Uncle Charlie were still alive. He would have been able to see me graduate from high school, walk down the aisle as I was getting married, and he would be there when I graduate from college in a few years. Not seeing him at my graduation and my wedding about killed me and if he were still around, both of those events would have been marvelous. Looking back at both of those days, he was the one and only thing that was missing.

When I Hold Your Hand

  • June 11, 2010 5:18 am

There is one thing in the world that I can easily say means more to me than anything I own. That thing isn’t really a thing at all. It’s a person. And who is that person you may ask? My husband. When I first met my husband, my life was ‘topsy-turvy.” I was having a hard time transitioning into my teenage years and felt as if no one cared. He let me know that there was someone out there who cared about me. He helped me flourish and blossom into adulthood and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He is truly my knight in shining armor and I love him more than anything.

The Fondest of Memories

  • June 8, 2010 3:17 am

It seems just like yesterday that I was a child and had not a care in the entire world. But, I would have to say that if I had to choose just one memory that sticks out in my mind as being my “fondest memory” it would have to be spending time with my Uncle Charlie. He passed away three years ago and I miss him everyday. Every year for Christmas we would always watch the Christmas Specials on television and even though he passed away, I still watch those specials every year. When I watch these shows, it makes it feel like he is here with me, even though he isn’t.

Reading is Better than Dreaming

If I had to choose my most favorite pastime in the entire world, it would be reading. I love to read and have since I was a child. In my opinion, there is nothing better when it is snowy or rainy out, than curling up and reading a good book. Some other things that I enjoy doing in my spare time are writing poetry and short novels, listening to music, and watching Grey’s Anatomy. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, my family, and my pets. Family is what comes first in my life.

A Delicious Dinner

  • June 2, 2010 5:16 pm

For dinner today I had an absolutely scrumptious meal with my grandparents. We baked lasagna that was stuffed with mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, meat, and sauce. The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection. It was baked in the oven until it was golden brown on the top and the cheese was warm and melted. To go along side this wonderful lasagna, we had garlic bread sticks, which were also warm and straight from the oven. Paired with a glass of cold milk, this meal couldn’t possibly have been any better. We finished dinner off with a warm piece of chocolate cake with chocolate icing. It was marvelous.
