  • January 29, 2011 9:23 am

Fire prevention or fire safety is an essential thing in our life. Fire safety equipments are very important to us. We should have at least a fire extinguisher as a primary source of fire safety equipment supplies. Smoke and fire alarms need to be set up as a fire safety major in the buildings. There is need to create awareness about the importance of fire safety equipments. Use of such alarms and smoke detectors can reduce changes of damage of property and human beings from fire. We need to educate people how to make use of fire safety equipments. Even School children should have topic about use of this equipments as a part of their syllabus. There are various safety equipments available in market; one of them is fire sprinkler system that discharges water when the effects of a fire have been detected, such as when a predetermined temperature has been reached.

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit

  • January 28, 2011 4:12 pm

I love the TV show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU). I watch it every chance I can get and I always tune in for the marathons, regardless of what they are. I have followed the development of the characters from the very beginning and I think Benson and Stabler make an excellent team. I hope the show will continue in longevity, as the possibilities, albeit sad and tragic, are endless for story lines. It amazes me how many District Attorneys and Assistant District Attorneys the show has gone through with its casting. Unfortunately, these characters have met untimely demises themselves or simply don’t pan out. I wonder how one goes about getting chosen for the show. I would love to do a guest spot on it, as something other than a corpse of course!

I think that if I could take a vacation with any two people, I would like to take Oprah and my husband. I’d take Oprah because she would be able to foot the bill for everything and she always gets the red carpet treatment. Not to mention her exquisite taste and unlimited access to virtually everything! I would love to live it up and top off the things on Oprah’s decadent list of likes and possibilities. I would like to vacation in all of Oprah’s favorite spots, especially the places she owns property, like Barbados, the Bahamas, any European villas, and so on. I think it be a whirlwind adventure to enjoy things from Oprah’s point of view and lavish lifestyle. I would not want that vacation to end!

Excitement

  • January 21, 2011 4:11 pm

I really liked seeing my children’s excitement over the gifts they received this past holiday. I was also able to have my mother here, because we flew her in for the holidays. It was special to have her with us. I disliked not being able to have my entire family together. But it is difficult to arrange, with people being in different places, with our family being so far away, and travel arrangements can be quite expensive for a family of 5. I also have a stepson, who spent this holiday season with his biological mother. It was very stressful to have him away, and he has not been given all the things that he has been promised from her, which makes me sad for him. It would have been great if he could have been with us, to share the family being all together.

I am looking forward to becoming more familiar with my new neighborhood and environment in the year 2011. I am also looking forward to many positive changes in my and my family’s life. My husband will receive a promotion and, hopefully, a bonus. I anticipate picking up more clients and getting off of unemployment; thereby, generating more income for the household. I am not looking forward the fact that my husband will most likely have to deploy for approximately seven months. I am dreading how things will progress without him and how that will impact my family. I hope the time for the deployment will fly by quickly, so we can get on with enjoying the blessings!

The year 2010 has certainly been a roller coaster

  • January 15, 2011 4:08 pm

I am married to a Marine and what I have liked  most is that I have had my husband and family together for the entire year, without any deployments. I also like the fact that we received a new duty station and have moved to a new neighborhood in sunny CA. I disliked leaving behind my old job and all the stressors that came along with it. Also, getting on unemployment, falling behind in bills and stressing about how things were going to come together were deterrents for this year. Hopefully 2011 will be a year of settling and upswing!

It would be hard to decide which charity to donate to

Ronald McDonald House in Essen, Germany

There are so many charities available to date. On one hand, I would want to donate to a charity that has a solid reputation, in order to make sure I am not getting ripped off. On the other hand, I would want to donate to a charity that actually helps people and I have some idea of where the money is going. I think, in light of these two things, I would split my money between The Ronald McDonald House, as it helps parents spend time with their children when they are very sick and require extra special care. It covers board and medical services that normal insurance does not. I would also donate to the American Red Cross, as it provides extensive services to various families throughout the year. Both of these charities have visible efforts for the money spent and offer an accounting practice that is of public nature.

I currently drive a 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV

  • January 7, 2011 4:07 pm

I love the look of the car and the different amenities it has. I was driven to purchase it because I have three young boys and I wanted the third row option, with the additional space. My favorite feature on the car, to date, has to be the heated seats. I don’t like the fact that it is not up-to-date with the latest technology, but that’s only due to the year that it was manufactured. My navigation system needs work, as it does not recognize the newer roads, its slow, and the buttons have become worn out. I also have a lot of features that were added on after-market that are needing service at the time, i.e. hideaway running boards, backup cameras, etc. The maintenance is rather expensive, so now I’m debating on whether or not to shell out the thousands required for maintenance or save up and try to upgrade to a newer model.

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would like to live on the ship called the ResidenSEA. It’s a large luxury liner that comes with exquisite housing amenities. It’s usually granted for those who have very lucrative lifestyles. This ship is as large, if not larger than, many of the cruise ships out there; however, there are only a few hundred people on the ship. When watching the interviews, the people there stated they felt like they were on the ship by themselves! This ship allows individuals to perform regular work functions, i.e. realty, accounting, etc. However, the ship travels too all of the worldly destinations, so one can port in Spain and wake up in Greece, then, arrive at different islands days later. Living on this ship, really gives you the chance to constantly explore the world in the lap of luxury, so I’d love to live here.

Need of fire proof safes

  • January 3, 2011 9:32 am

Across the whole length and breadth of the globe, the major disaster is caused by fire other than water and wind. In this context there should be a well built defensive mechanism to avoid anything from the attack of fire. The preventive measure would be the small fire safe materials which only would give the needed safety from fire before its outset. The fire proof safes are widely designed and enacted for the users. It finds its role in cabinet safety, jewelry safety, supplier safety, exporters and also trader’s safety. These materials are mainly fire resistant and also sold with necessary UL certification.
