The Importance of Fire Safety

  • August 3, 2010 2:35 am

There were two co-workers working in a retail jewelry store one night. I heard about this story, because, I had worked for this company at another location and was transferred to this particular location. One of the two co-workers/employees of this particular company had to work the ‘ night shift ‘. After closing hours, the employees began to do their daily tasks of closing down the shop. They were both busy with their assigned chores when one of them began to scream frantically. She was a female. The other, male, came out of the back room only to see a small fire trickling along side of an electrical cord. The woman was standing in a corner frantically screaming while the male, very calmly grabbed the fire extinguisher and doused the fire! They said there was foam everywhere! But luckily, one kept a clear, calm head and used the fire extinguisher to save the building. When I had come on board, I asked the guy, my new co-worker, “what is that long black spot on the carpet near the discount fire blankets “? He told me the story. As it turned out, this gentleman had applied with the local fire department for a job, so having known a little about fire safety, I would imagine they were lucky to have a calm headed person around who had an interest in extinguishing fires! The carpet was later replaced.

Fire in the Kitchen

Fire has always been one of my biggest fears. I have always been paranoid about setting our house on fire. The thought of a fire in my home has haunted me for a long time. When I was a little girl, I watched my grandparents lose everything in a fire. Long before foam fire extinguishers existed I believe, It was because my cousin left a piece of candy wrap sitting on the stove, it lit up under my grandmothers boiling pot of potatoes, and in less than an hour, my grandparents lost it all. So, needless to say, I own a lightweight foam fire extinguisher. The night I smelt smoke coming from my kitchen, I was glad to have one. My son had left a paper plate sitting on the stove top that he forgot to turn off before heading to bed. My biggest fear had actually happened, and instead of freaking out like I thought I would, I handled it really well, and was thankful for the foam fire extinguisher.

Jewelry

Jewelry is the most expensive thing that I ever bought. A pair of diamond earrings with a bangle bracelet with 13 diamonds in it. It was so beautiful that I just can’t miss buying it. Besides I have it for such a low price although I almost spend my entire savings on it but the price which I bought it is much, much lower than its regular price. It is indeed a good deal of my money that is why I didn’t want to miss it at all. Besides jewelry for me is a good investment. Its worth keeps on increasing and if you need cash immediately then you can always get cash for it in any pawnshop in your area.

Toyota Camry

My favorite has always been Toyota and I just love Toyota Camry (latest model). Toyota has been a reputable brand when it comes to cars. I can still remember my father’s car, a Toyota Corolla, he bought it way back year 1970. Actually the same year when I was born and believe it or not until now his got it and when you look at it, it just looks like new and the engine is still so smooth when it runs. Such power there when it runs and it haven’t undergone major repair at all! Amazing isn’t it? I would love to have my own but of course the latest Toyota Camry is my choice and hopes to keep it many years too.

My favorite animal is a Cat. Ever since I am small, I can still remember I always have a cat on my side. They are a loyal pet even if they go out sometimes because they always have that instinct or cat nature to hunt still after a long day outside they always comeback to you. They certainly have great sense of direction for they don’t get easily lose. They always find their way home even if they are gone a long way from your house. Another thing, they keep your house from other animals like rats, cockroaches and other insects. Although dogs are not their best friend but still there are cats that can go along well with dogs.

My favorite website is Facebook because I get to communicate with friends and relatives even if they are far away. Most of all you get to gain lots of fiends not just in your country but all over the world. Facebook do entertain through their game application. After a long days work you get to communicate with friends and relax and have some fun with your favorite game applications like Farmville. It is indeed fun to play, it kind of release all the stress and pressures at work. Great way to relax and what is more? You can always share your ideas to all.

I would have never done that

  • July 13, 2010 8:13 am

If i had the option of doing one thing in my life over again i would have never dropped out of high school.Do not get me wrong i did finish at a private school but i missed out on things i will never get back like my prom or homecoming even small things like having my picture in the year book.Things that used to seem so small have became big to me now that i realized i can never change that. The thoughts that crossed my mind at that time were not what i was going to miss out on but getting away from all the hateful people around me.

Life is tuff…

  • July 9, 2010 8:13 pm

I would have to say that without a doubt the hardest thing that i have ever had to do would be forgiving. Not to say i am not a forgiving person because that is far from the truth.Anyone will tell you that I am the first person to forgive but sometimes life throws you curve balls and it is not always easy to forgive someone of things that in your opinion either jeopardized your life or crippled you emotionally forever.I have forgiven said people but it it was to happen all over again i am not sure if i could or if i would even try.
